Kairos

There are key moments in our life that define us. It could be the day you graduated from high school or college. It could be the day you had your first child. It could be the day you got married.  It could be the day someone close to you died. Victories and tragedies have a way of shaping our lives. Some events catapult us into destiny, while others cause us to take pause. Kairos is an Ancient Greek word meaning the right, critical or opportune moment. Don't just knock, kick the door of opportunity open. Seize the moment. Take a chance. Live!

Carpe Diem

'Tis the season of resolutions, affirmations, and vision boards. The end of the year is a time filled with reflection, regret, and hope. I challenge you to let hope fill your heart, your mind, and your soul. "Rebellions are built on hope."- Jyn Erso, Rogue One. Many of you know I am an avid Star Wars fan. So, I couldn't let this quote slip from my literary grasp. The events of Rogue One take place before the original 1977 Star Wars: A New Hope. Why is this relevant to a blog post about hope? Rebellions are the breeding ground for hope. They usher in the spirit of change in hopeless environments.  Aleppo has become a hopeless place for its residents. America has become a hopeless place for some of its residents. The sound of rebellion is ringing from every snowcapped mountain in Colorado to the molehills of Mississippi, and we must heed its call. Carpe Diem! Seize the day.
