Prepare

I’m a planner. I have several digital “to do” lists. I have alerts on my phone. I have multiple organizers. I have shared calenders, the whole nine. It makes it easier for me to manage my household and keep up with everyone’s schedule and budding social calendars. You don’t have to go to this extreme, but anything of value in your life is going to require preparation. You will need to prepare for every major step in your life. Some preparation requires physical training. Other preparation requires mental and spiritual conditioning. While other prepartion is financial. No matter what area in your life requires preparation, do your due diligence to properly prepare. Plan. Prepare. Proceed. Perform.

“Home is where the heart is.” We have all heard these words, and there is some truth to them. Home is not just a building. It’s where you feel loved. It’s where memories are made. It’s where you feel safe. It’s not just a city. It’s where your people reside. Where is your village? Where do you feel secure? Where do you feel protected emotionally and physically? That’s your home. Home is where you can heal. Home is where you are free. Home is where your heart can reside without fear. Home is where your heart is…

Hold On

Hold on. Don't give up. You’re closer than you think. It's almost over. You can do it. Change is coming. Every now and again, we need encouragement. We need a cheerleader. We need to be reminded of our own strength. It's something about this time of year that makes us feel some kinda way. We start to think about all our unfinished projects and goals we didn't accomplish. Guess what?! It’s okay. Hold on! Things will get better. You will be motivated again. You will accomplish those goals. Just hold on!

In Everything Give Thanks

I was reminded that trouble don’t last always. We all have struggles. We all have strife. We all have thorns in our life. This life does not come without its share of disappointments and tragedies, as well as joyful and momentous occasions. In everything, give thanks. When things are plenty and when things are lacking, give thanks. When life is good and when life is disappointing, give thanks. When you’re not sure and doubt seems like the only way, give thanks. When you know if it was nothing but God, give thanks.

Be Visual

We become what we see. We need positive imagery. We need positive icons. We need to be able to visualize ourselves in varied arenas. Every year my family creates personal vision boards to remind us of the goals we are trying to achieve that year. Some of the goals are collective, while others are individual. The power of visualization is getting in touch with our individual creative spirit. We can create our own reality, when we can see what we say. Be Visual!

Ready or Not

I love playing Hide and Seek. I always have the best hiding spots, and I’m very good at finding people in unconventional places. Its funny how in my adult life, I still find myself hiding and seeking. I am always seeking to better myself and those around me, yet under the guise of being a wife and mother I tend to lose myself in my “to do” list. My dreams and goals are hidden under piles of laundry and doctor visits. I have to make a conscious effort to be me. I have to be deliberate in taking “me” time. Ready or Not here I come. It’s a declaration. It’s motivation. It’s a reminder that I am still in there. I still have wants and desires that I want to pursue. Ready or Not here I come. It’s a war cry. I am going to show up and be all that God has called me to be. Ready or Not here I come. I am telling my obstacles and distractions that I’m back in the game. Don’t believe me just watch!

Reach

How far is your reach? What does your sphere of influence look like? Do people listen when you speak? Are you a leader? Are you an example? Your reach extends past your immediate circle. In this new digital age, every post and every picture can have a global impact. Things go viral everyday. We should be mindful of what we do because of our reach. Our reach impacts others. Our touch, our speech, our sentiments, our opinions matter. They have reach.
