Restore

Joel 2:25-32 (NKJV) “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame. Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel:
I am the Lord your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame.

Reconcile

I promise no spoilers! I am a big Marvel fan and one of the recurring themes in the last two installments of the Infinity War series was reconciliation. I think most of us think that reconciliation is things going back to the way they were or restoration. However, to reconcile means to bring harmony. It does not mean that relationships are restored, it means you are at peace with the current state of things. It means you are willing to let go and let God. It means you may not understand or agree, but you trust that God is in control. Reconciliation is a necessary part of our growth and our process.

Restoration

Most of us can remember all the things we have lost in this life. For those of us who have experienced tragedy, the list might be in the forefront of our minds. We reminisce. We remember, and sometimes we regret. Loss has a way of bringing up all sorts of emotions, but how do we feel when we experience restoration? How do we feel when the claim check is in the mail? How do we feel when we buy another house? How do we feel when we get a second chance to get right? God is a restorer. He is a God of restoration. For everything you have lost, you should have an expectation of God. God is a God of more than enough. There are countless stories of restoration in the bible. My favorite is Job, a strong second is Elijah and the widow. Take time to focus on God’s word and ask for restoration in your life. What do you need God to restore?
