Delight

Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

When was the last time you stopped and smelled the flowers? When was the last time you laughed until you cried? When was the last time you danced in the rain? When was the last time you just had fun? Delight by definition means great pleasure. Pleasure comes in many forms. Life is meant to be lived. Life is meant to be enjoyed. Delight yourself in the Lord. Delight yourself in the Lord’s creation. Delight yourself in life’s simple pleasures.

Laugh

I think one of the best sounds in the world is to hear a child laugh. Their laughter comes from a place of pure joy and contentment. Many times we may find ourselves laughing to keep from crying. Our laughter is tinged with pain and regret. I challenge you this week to play a game. Do something you enjoy. Laugh until your side hurts. Experience joy. Giggle. Smile. Laugh.

Sometimes, all people need from you is to be present and accounted for the moments that matter. Sometimes, all that matters is that you are here. It's important that you make time for the people that matter in your life. Life happens. You're gonna be late. You might miss some things due to schedule conflicts. Take off. Plan accordingly. Make your family and loved ones a priority. Make the things of God a priority. Make sure that when it counts, you are here. Turn off your phone and pay attention. Be fully present and enjoy life's simple pleasures.
