Division

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

This scripture is a reminder that some struggles are spiritual. The spirit of division is running amok. We are divided by class and wealth. We are divided by our race. We are divided by our religion. We are divided in our homes. We are divided by our education. There is division everywhere. We need to recognize it, call it out and address it. The cure for the division is unity. It is recognizing that we are all God’s children. We all are created equal. We all bleed red. We all are the same and we have more in common than we think.

Division

Matthew 18:19 (KJV) Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

There is power in numbers. We were never meant to walk this road alone. In fact, God’s word state that when two or more are gathered in his name, what they ask will be granted. Sure, there are other stipulations, but look at the power of agreement. Our friendships have power because of agreement. Our relationships have power because of agreement. We are empowered because of agreement. Yet so many us lack this power because we want to be independent. We want to do it all by ourselves. We let division win.

Love Covers

Love_Covers_Wide.jpg

1 Peter 4:8-And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

This was yesterday's daily scripture. I started to think about divorce rates and came to the conclusion that we have been conditioned to quit. We don’t forgive. We don't give second chances. We quit. We get mad. We feel wronged, and we quit. Our love is circumstantial instead of unconditional. Our love is conditional. Our marriages are not based on devotion, but mutual convenience. We don't let love cover. We don’t love. We “like” strongly. Maybe we need to revisit the book of Peter to get a better understanding of the power of love. Real love covers.

Evolve

"The whole point of being alive is to evolve into the complete person you were intended to be."- Oprah Winfrey

Imagination. Reinvention. Evolution. I can't imagine being one way your whole life and them transforming into someone completely different in your latter years, but it happens all the time. Bruce became Caitlyn right before our eyes. People retire and start brand new careers. Married couples become divorcees. Change is inevitable. Life will cause you to evolve. Embrace it. Sometimes, we don't see the whole picture of our lives. Adapt. Evolve. It's easier than extinction. Become the complete person you were always intended to be.
