Called Out

I learned another meaning of a familiar word. The word ecclesia combines two words that mean “out of “ and “call.” Ecclesia typically refers to the church. However, by definition it means the called out ones. 1 Peter 2:9 states, “but you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” We are all called out of darkness. I think that we think that our callings only refer to the calling to preach the gospel. We are called out to do many things. We are called to preach. We are called to teach. We are called to love. We are called to pray. We are called to write. We are called to dance. Ministry comes in many forms. You are a chosen generation. You were handpicked for this gift. You are special. You are gifted. You are called out.

Ephesians 6:12  (KJV) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

I think that sometimes we forget that Lucifer was an angel. I think we are ignorant of the fact that spiritual warfare is real. I think we substituted faith for crystals. We use "energy" in the place of spirit. We have forgotten that the battlefield is in our minds. Our souls are at stake. Our humanity is being challenged. Our character is being tested. Execution is the cost of fear. Detention is the cost of being an immigrant. Torment is the cost of being a minority.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
