1 Corinthians 10:13- There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
I think we have all had moments when we have questioned God. We felt like the walls were closing in on us, and it was all getting to be too much. We find ourselves in test after test with no room to breathe. We feel pressured. We get tired. We feel depressed. We feel like giving up, or maybe that’s just me. In these moments, I’ve learned to encourage myself. I remind myself that God will not put more on me than I can bear. I tell myself that God is faithful. I meditate on God’s word. Does it change my immediate situation? No, put it does change me. It helps me to stop operating out of my own strength and rely on God’s. So, when life feels like too much, remember there is always a way of escape.
Growing up in a Southern baptist church, I always looked forward to testimony service. It was the one time besides announcements and “the welcome” that the members got the mic. Depending on who got the mic, determined how entertaining the service would be that day.Read More
There is nothing like a sense of accomplishment. Everyone needs to take a moment and celebrate small victories. I tell my kids on Friday, “you made it through the week.” I tell my co-workers, “we made it to Friday!” Sometimes, its just making it through that phone call, that difficult conversation, that appointment, that meeting or that moment. Life can be so intense. We need to breathe. We need to sigh. We need to relax. We need to unwind. The afterglow comes after we take that moment. Its when you look at the freshly cut yard. Everyone has a different journey to motherhood. Some become mothers through marriage, like myself. Some become mothers through adoption or surrogacy. Some become mothers through pregnancy. No matter how you found yourself with the title of mother, your children are your heart. Their words can inspire you and cut you. They show you your best and worse version of yourself. They teach you lessons everyday. They make you smile. They make you cry and its all worth it. A mother’s heart is filled with endless love for her children.
