Optimize

Businesses are always trying to optimize their profit margins. They try to optimize their website for search engines. They try to make sure they get the most bang for their buck. Optimization is all about efficiency. It's interesting that we optimize every aspect of our professional lives, and fail to be as efficient personally. We must make sure that we maximize every opportunity. We must exhaust our resources to ensure that we are taking advantage of every situation. I believe that if we truly optimize our relationships, friendships, and personal network that we could build the impossible. We have the capability to overcome obstacles. If we truly optimize our potential, the possibilities are limitless. 

Position

Sometimes, I feel like I should be further along than I am. I tend to forget my past accomplishments and only focus on what's not working now. It's easy to forget yesterday's victory. It's easy to not notice all the progress you've made. Sometimes, we forget the destination and only see our current position. Our perspective on our position needs to change. Think of your position as preparation for your next victory. You are gaining skills you will need in the next season of your life. Maybe you are being taught a lesson in patience. Maybe you are in the midst of a season of rest because you never take the time to when you are busy. Maybe you are recovering from a setback or a breakup. Whatever position you are in, there is a purpose. You may not understand it now, but in time you will. Learn today's lesson. Gain a new perspective, and play your position. 

Construction

If you live anywhere near a major city, you understand how frustrating construction can be to your daily commute. You either choose to sit through the traffic delays, or you find an alternative route. Both options can be unnerving. Construction is the result of something being broken, damaged, or in need of repair. Construction is also the result of progress and forward movement. It is a sign of a thriving city filled with new opportunities and in many cases new highways. Think of yourself as this thriving city. You are the result of progress and forward movement, and because of this you need a better infrastructure. You have a few potholes in need of repair. You need a better mode of transportation. You need a better form of communication. Don't get frustrated with the construction. You have two options. You can be patient through the process, or you can find a detour. Both will get you to your destination, but the journey will differ. Construction is a necessary process in order to thrive.
