Heartstrings

Have you ever watched a movie that made you cry? Have you ever been brought to tears because of someone's words? Have you ever been so choked up because of a kind gesture? We live in a world that has desensitized us to the most basic human emotions. We villainize victims. We are calloused, because we can't afford to be weak. We are numb to the injustices that should be pulling at our heartstrings. It's ok to feel, that's what makes us human. 

Galvanize

Is there anything that gets us excited? Is there anything that shocks us? Is there anything that motivates us? In the day and age of Facebook Live, we have seen all sorts of injustices take place live and in color. We have seen murders streamed live to a viewing audience of millions. In many ways, the media has desensitized us to things that would normally invoke emotions like empathy, anger, and fear. We are numb to the very things that make us human. We are numb to our victories and our failures. We must wake up. We must take action. We must galvanize.
