Community

Community.jpg

What does your community look like? Who is on your list to call when things go wrong? Who is on the invite list when it’s time to celebrate? Your community is everything. They are the people who you choose to share your life with no matter what. They are the shoulders you cry on and your cheerleaders in the stand. Make sure that your community is filled with truth tellers and wisdom seekers. Your community should be filled with people who can shine a light on your places of darkness and speak to where you are going. Your community should be filled with people who know the real you and love you anyway. Your community should be filled people who know where you are have insight into where you are going. I’ll ask again, what does your community look like?

Niche

Sometimes, it is hard to find your place in this world. You may know what you don't like. You may not be able to narrow down what you do like. You may be indifferent about some things, and completely neutral about others. Ask yourself, "what would you do for free?" "Is someone else doing that?" "Is there a way for you to do it better?" Sometimes, it's not about doing something different. Sometimes, it's about doing it better. Think about how many burger spots and pizza joints there are in your neighborhood. Pizza isn't just pizza. Papa John's is different from Domino's. Pizza Hut is different from Godfather's. Just like McDonald's is different from Burger King, but they all sell burgers and fries. "Identify your niche and dominate it. And when I say dominate, I just mean work harder than anyone else could possibly work at it."- Nate Parker

Insight

There are certain movies I can watch over and over again. Each time I watch the movie, I notice something I missed the previous time. I gain a better understanding, a different perspective, or deeper meaning about the film. People are like films. You can watch them over and over again and notice something you missed the previous time. I know, first impressions are lasting impressions, but is that always true? Have you every jumped to a conclusion about a person or a situation to later find out that you were wrong? Have you ever taken the opportunity to get to know someone and found out that you really never knew them at all? People are like onions, too. They have layers. It takes time to peel back all those layers and really get to know someone. I'm not saying to ignore your intuition. I am saying take the time to get a better understanding, or a different perspective. Gain some insight!

"The best vision is insight." -Malcolm Forbes
