Knowledge
Knowledge is defined by facts or skilled gained through experience or education. Life has a way of educating us in ways the classroom never could achieve. Education is valuable when it is valued by the individual. Most of us hated waking up and going to school. It was simply a check on the to do list. College was the lesser of two evils for me, but grad school was a deliberate decision. I don't think I valued my education until I made the choice to go back to school. School isn't the only avenue of learning. What new skills have you learned? What do you want to add to your toolkit? What knowledge do you have yet to gain? We live in an era when knowledge is at our fingertips. We can google anything. Ask alexa. We are fresh out of excuses to be ignorant.
"To attain knowledge, add things everyday. To attain wisdom, remove things every day.” -Lao Tzu
Learning Curve
I've always heard people say, "you learn something new everyday," or "you never stop learning." Most people associate education with formal schooling. However, knowledge can be gained from many non-traditional sources. Parents, family, mentors, co-workers, and associates all have lessons to be learned and taught. They have wisdom to transfer. They have advice to give. Life is one big learning curve. Hopefully, we learn from our mistakes and gain experience to pass to the next person. We then help create a community of shared wealth and wisdom.
