Cultivation is a very old gardening principal. It requires breaking up and loosening the soil to optimize the retention and penetration of air, water, and nutrients, and removing weeds. Many times, we plant seeds and don't cultivate the ground, literally and figuratively. We fail to turn the soil of our hardened hearts. We don't take the time to remove the weeds of distraction, fear or doubt. We allow our dreams to grow and be tainted by environments we did cultivate properly. Before you start making resolutions, cultivate your ground. Create a pristine environment for dreams and relationships to grow in. Turn the soil. Pick the weeds. Cultivate!

Planted

The process of being planted and being buried are very similar, but have completely different purposes. You plant something that has the ability to live, while you bury something that has died. Both require being put in the ground and covered with dirt. However, the end result is quite different. How can you determine if you are being planted or buried? You are still alive. There is still life in you. There is still purpose in you. There is still the ability to produce. You are being planted. Though it may seem alone and dark, these are the optimal conditions for your growth. This is what you need to produce what's inside of you. The better question is what kind of seed are you? When this process is over what will you produce?
