Kids are fearless. They are willing to do and try anything. They do not comprehend the danger associated with their actions. They innately trust people. They are not paralyzed by failure. They simply get up and try again. I see it every day with my daughter. She is learning to walk. She falls all the time, but she gets up and tries again. She hurts herself, but she tries again. We could take a page from her playbook. How many times have we failed? How many times have we just given up? How many times have we been paralyzed by fear? Why don’t we try again? Why can’t we be fearless? It’s all in our head. It is a mindset. Today, I want to remind you that we have been power. We have a sound mind. We are intrepid.
2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Holiday
For some a holiday, is just another day off. For others, it means vacation. For kids, it means no school and gifts. For adults, it might mean spending and shopping. The holidays mean different things to different people. It’s a time to recharge. It’s a time to rest. It’s a time to enjoy family and friends. It’s a time to reflect. No matter what the holiday means to you, make sure you make the most of it. Make good memories. Enjoy the moment. Cherish time spent with even the most difficult loved ones. Share the holiday spirit. Enjoy your holiday.
Unicorn
I love unicorns! Always have. Always will. Recently, unicorns have gained popularity. You can find unicorn inspired anything almost anywhere. I was gifted a unicorn pool inflatable. Needless to say, it was a hit at the pool and kids alike. Unicorns are mythical animals represented as a horse with a single straight horn projecting from its forehead. Unicorns are usually things that are hard to attain. They are sometimes referred to as the "perfect catch." A unicorn might be a guy or girl over a certain age that has never been married or doesn't have kids. Unicorns are special. They are a rarity. What is rare in your life? What do you deem special? Take the time today to appreciate those unique special things in your life that you may have taken for granted recently. Love the unicorn in your life. Celebrate it!
Affection
Never underestimate the power of a kind word and a hug. Sometimes, all you need is a good bear hug. Ask any child, a kiss can heal any injury. Human contact is necessary and often neglected, despite the proven medicinal benefits. We are nurturers, and we need to be nurtured. Just admit it, we all need love and affection.
